A culturally rich journey with KEXP hosts Cheryl Waters and Albina Cabrera
Dear KEXP supporter,
Hola!
This October, we're going back to Mexico City for the announcement of the lineup of the 25th anniversary Vive Latino Festival. As in 2023, KEXP will host a special set of live sessions and at the end of the week, we’ll celebrate all these artists with a concert, El Sonido Live.
This year, we’re hoping that you’ll join us! Spend a day with us at the El Desierto Casa studio watching performances by Latin American artists, tour La Bestia radio with the KEXP team and, on the final evening, join us for a special iteration of El Sonido Live at Foro Indie Rocks.
With both friends and family in Mexico, we know that a visit to Mexico City wouldn’t be complete without exploring its incredible history and cultural riches along with so much incredible music. While we won’t be able to visit every one of the almost 200 museums in the city, we’ll visit a few, including the Museo Frida Kahlo; we’ll see Diego Rivera’s famous mural, the History of Mexico; we’ll explore local markets and sample street tacos and tequila; and we’ll check out the ancient pyramids of Teotihuacan, once the largest city of pre-Columbian Americas.
If you want to explore Mexico City with KEXP, check out the full itinerary, accommodations and prices here. Our last trip was just magical and we can’t wait to head back this year. Hope you’ll join us –
We hope to see you in Mexico City!
