Is an Earthbound Expedition Right For You?

We want every guest to have a wonderful travel experience, so it's important that our style of travel is the right fit for you. After all, this is your vacation—and we want you to enjoy every moment of it! Please take a few minutes to read the information below, along with our complete Terms and Conditions. If you have any questions or would simply like to talk about whether one of our journeys is right for you, we'd be delighted to help. Just give us a call at 206-842-9775.

Moderately Active: Earthbound Expeditions are designed for travelers who enjoy discovering the world through culture, history, cuisine, and authentic local experiences. Our hand-crafted journeys are thoughtfully paced, combining the comfort of carefully selected accommodations and transportation with the pleasure of exploring destinations on foot. Most days include leisurely to moderate walking through historic cities, charming villages, colorful markets, gardens, museums, and scenic neighborhoods. Along the way, you should be comfortable navigating stairs, gentle hills, cobblestone streets, and other uneven surfaces that are part of the character of many of the world's most fascinating places. If you enjoy immersing yourself in a destination rather than simply seeing it through a bus window, you'll feel right at home traveling with Earthbound Expeditions.

Transportation: We travel comfortably by private motor coach, train, ferry, river ship, and other local transportation to move between destinations. Once we arrive, however, most sightseeing takes place on foot. Our guided walks connect museums, historic churches, gardens, public squares, markets, neighborhoods, and other places that cannot be fully appreciated from a vehicle. Please note that transportation providers and attractions outside the United States are not subject to the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and accessibility standards may differ significantly from those in the U.S.

Accessibility: Many of the places we visit are centuries old and were never designed with modern accessibility in mind. Historic villages, castles, museums, gardens, river ships, country inns, and boutique hotels may have stairs, narrow passageways, uneven surfaces, gravel paths, or limited elevator access. Guests should be able to board boats, trains, ferries, and coaches independently, including navigating gangways and stairs. Occasionally, luggage may need to be carried short distances over uneven surfaces or up a few steps. While we carefully select comfortable accommodations, smaller historic hotels sometimes have only one elevator—or none at all—and occasional stair climbing may be unavoidable.

Earthbound Guides and Expeditions Leaders: Our hand-selected guides are dedicated to ensuring an exceptional experience for every guest and are responsible for the needs of the entire group. Because of these responsibilities, they are unable to provide personal mobility assistance or arrange separate transportation or sightseeing for guests who are unable to keep pace with the group. Guests who require personal assistance during the tour should travel with a companion who is able to provide that assistance throughout the journey.
