Ireland is a land of legends…a land of music…a land of stories and storytellers.
Join WSHU Public Radio for an enchanting journey through the heart of Ireland, where history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes converge in the form of story and song. We’ll begin in the storied streets of Dublin—the setting of ballads like “Molly Malone” and great novels like Ulysses. Travel to Kilkenny to uncover medieval treasures like the iconic castle and the legendary Rock of Cashel. Continue to the vibrant town of Killarney, where natural wonders abound in Killarney National Park and the scenic Dingle Peninsula, rich with ancient sites and coastal beauty.
Conclude the adventure in Galway, the cultural heart of the west, with visits to the awe-inspiring Cliffs of Moher and the unique Burren landscape. Along the way, enjoy delicious meals, lively music, and Ireland’s famed hospitality. From charming towns to rugged countryside, this expertly guided tour offers a perfect mix of exploration, relaxation, and unforgettable memories.
At every stop, we’ll steep ourselves in Ireland’s musical and literary traditions -- the ancient legends of heroes like Cú Chulainn and Finn mac Cumhaill, the mystery and magic of fairy folklore and customs. We’ll hear the best of Irish poetry and Irish music in the places that inspired them, and connect to a long thread of the island’s legendary bards and ballads.
I hope you will join us, Emily Boyer and Davis Dunavin, your hosts for WSHU’s magical journey to Ireland!
