South Africa
With Minnesota Public Radio

with host Angela Davis

Enjoy vibrant Cape Town, historic Robben Island, Cape Winelands
and a Safari into the African Bush
January 22 – February 2, 2021

Kick Africa off your bucket list with host Angela Davis and Minnesota Public Radio and prepare for the experience of a lifetime to a destination unlike any other. On this small group expedition, you’ll learn why Desmond Tutu coined the term “Rainbow Nation” to describe his South Africa. This young, diverse nation is a mix of ethnic groups from Africa and around the globe - all who have settled here and proudly call South Africa home. You’ll be meeting community leaders, teachers, and local guides who will help bring to light the true South Africa and its amazing diversity.

Along the way, you’ll enjoy the stunning beauty of Cape Town, a breathtaking cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain and the biodiversity and landscape of the Cape of Good Hope. A special visit to Mandela’s prison on Robben Island and a musical event featuring the music of South Africa have been reserved for you. In addition you’ll discover the culturally rich town of SOWETO and discover the turbulent and fascinating history of this ancient land. Your journey culminates at a first class safari lodge where you’ll ride in an open jeep into the African bush to view lions, giraffes, rhinos, elephants and more. A post-tour adventure to Botswana and Victoria Falls is also available. Join friends of Minnesota Public Radio and escape the cold winter days for sunny South Africa! Don’t miss out! Space is limited.
