With New England Public Radio
Join New England Public Media, the new alliance of NEPR and WGBY, on a musical journey to a land of ancient civilizations. The adventure begins in Lima, the bustling metropolis and capital city of Peru, where you’ll follow a cultural path through the centuries, from the outstanding pre-Columbian art to the magnificent colonial architecture and the modern graffiti-filled district of Callao. In the evenings, you’ll be treated to the Baroque Music Festival. Next, it’s on to the Valle Sagrado in the Andes Mountains, once home to the Incan Empire. Here you’ll be immersed in the fascinating history of this people and the many who came before them. The journey continues to the extraordinary World Heritage site of Machu Picchu and culminates with an exploration of the villages, markets and temples of Cusco. Blending Baroque music with Peruvian culture, history and art, this trip promises to be an unforgettable adventure with NEPR!
